Summary: Time may have healed their bodies, but for two damaged men assigned to Atlantis, it will take meeting each other to truly become whole again.

This fic was inspired by the NCIS:LA episode with the facially scarred Marine finally allowing himself to go home. I kept wondering how in TTB, where physical beauty is so important, a scarred or disfigured person would fare. Could they find love and happiness in spite of their injuries? This looks amazing and the art is lovely. I've been wondering about how scarred or even people who aren't completely gorgeous fare in the TTB universe. I can't wait to read!

It is soo way past my bedtime that it isn't even funny anymore! But I had to read the last chapters, and also drop a line here to thank you for sharing such an amazing story! I really like reading stories in these 'verses, and this is right up there with the rest of them. Beautiful, moving and engaging, I loved the way you worked Katie into it, wonderful!

Thanks! I think Keira's Katie fit in well with Joey and Carmine. She more than deserved to be treated like a queen after what Kavanaugh did to her. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic!

*sniffles* It's poignant and sweet and so wonderful. Keira rec'd your fic and I had to come read it. Then I was totally blown away by the depth of emotions that you portrayed in your characters and ended up spending an hour reading your story. It had me in tears in places, especially the ending. Brilliant work :-)

Just finished reading this incredible tale. Another great addition the the universes that inspired it. I will say, I never much liked Steven, but this story made me see him in a different light. I hope you one day tell his story.

Thanks! I never really liked Steven much either, but I saw an opportunity in Keira's portrayal of him to actually turn him into a human being with feelings. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I saw this rec'd on Keira's site and had to come read. I just finished and am overwhelmed. It is a beautiful, well crafted story, and an enthralling read. I adore Keira's TTB universe, and you more than did it justice. The original characters were well written and engaging. Thank you for sharing this! <3

So amazing....I love this universe and I love what you've done with this story, as good as a Keira post(better bc it is longer;) you should ask to play in her sand box all the time

This is story was absolutely wonderful. I got completely sucked in and read this instead of doing work. I loved the dose of angst and the wonderful ending. You've got mad writing skills. Now I'm going to go find other things you have written.

Time Heals

I really liked this story all the way up to the end. Their personalities, interactions, loving but kinky sex. I liked when you brought Katie into it, and the cameos by Sheppard.

The ending disappointed me because I felt like healing their bodies with (magic) Ancient tech implied that there could never be a truly happy ending when they were both scarred. They had imperfect/incomplete bodies, and it seemed sort of ablist, although that's not the exact term. It felt like deus ex machina to make the readers feel better.

I wanted them to have their happy ending and still be damaged. I feel those are the best love stories.

At the same time, if she hadn't included the devices (which are part my 'verse) many people who have read my series would have probably questioned why they weren't used. In fact, when I started reading the story--the first thing I thought was "how" she would eventually include the healing devices Miko repaired in my series.

I've just read the whole thing again and it just keeps getting better and better. I love the characters and the relationship they built. It was neat that the alien gizmo that Miko fixed was able to heal their scars, but I truely believe that they would have been just fine without it. I've read your fic in other places (I discovered I had you saved at WWOMB) but this is by far my favorite. Are you going to continue it? I'd love to see Joey meet the folks and Caldwell meet Maria. Thank you for a wonderful story!

This was wonderful. Works in w/Keira's world very well. In fact, you did such a marvelous job with this that I'm off to read what else you've decided to share with us. BTW - the art for this fic? Is Carmine Xander? aka Nicholas Brendan? I couldn't id Joey, but Carmine.... IDK.

Anyway, I love the characters and love the story and you did any amazing job. What else have you got? (rummages around the journal)
